Indoor DAS 4G MIMO antenna gains SAR certification

The PCTEL PIM160-ICM ceiling mount 4G/LTE dual polarized and Low PIM omni antenna has now gained SAR certification in Europe meaning that the antenna is approved for deployments into 4G/LTE DAS designs.

PCTEL PIM160-ICM Antenna
Performing SAR testing on antenna measures the electromagnetic energy absorbed by the body using a wireless device or phone. SAR testing on in-building and DAS antennas helps to verify that a wireless device or component does not exceed a specifc country or region’s set RF exposure limits.

For more information and pricing on the PCTEL PIM160-ICM or for further information on the SAR certification for the PIM160-ICM antenna, please contact us.

The PIM160-ICM is a fully released product and available from Specialist Antennas.

New wideband 600 MHz to 6 GHz Omni Antenna introduced

EAD is pleased to introduced a new ultra wideband, outdoor omni-directional antenna that operates from 600 MHz to 6 GHz. Designed for applications requiring coverage across nearly all cellular bands including 2G, 3G and 4G and LTE bands as well as many WiFi frequencies, the UWB6060 antenna is suitable for jamming, monitoring, scanning and research applications as well as commercial RF applications requiring a wideband antenna.

UWB6060 Omni Antenna
The UWB6060 antenna offers 0 dBd gain across the 600-1500 MHz band and 2-3 dBd gain from 1500-6000 MHz all with a VSWR of better than 2.5:1. In terms of dimensions, the UWB6060 is approximately 330mm in length and 60mm in diameter can be mounted via a connector or an optional bracket. The antenna sheath is made from fibreglass in a natural white colour and the cap and base are passivated aluminium. The RF connector as standard is N-Female, but a DIN 7/16 female is an option.

AllDisc - a new 4G/LTE low profile dome antenna - now available

A new product from Smarteq is now in stock at Specialist Antennas in the UK - the AllDisc antenna is a low profile dome antenna designed for permanent outdoor deployment making it ideal for vending, telemetry, metering, CCTV and other wireless applications looking to make use of 4G connnections.

AllDisc Low Profile 4G/LTE Dome Antenna
With high gain figures (when mounted onto a groundplane), the AllDisc offers installers unrivalled performance from a dome-style antenna whilst retaining discreet aesthetics and a rugged/robust build quality. With peak gain ranging from 3.5 dBi to 5 dBi on a groundplane, or 1-4.5 dBi when mounted on a non-metal surface, the AllDisc enables superior signal strength at the modem, terminal or router faciliating higher rates and download speeds.

For more information on the AllDisc and for availability, please contact Specialist Antennas. The AllDisc will be available via the Connex webshop by the end of November 2015.

New MIMO dual polarised 4G/LTE antenna for DAS deployments

The PIM160-ICM is a 4G/LTE MIMO, low PIM antenna with dual polarisation designed primarily for Inbuilding DAS (Distributed Antenna System) deployments.

PIM160-ICM MIMO DAS Antenna

The PIM160-ICM is a discreet,ceiling-mount solution and very low profile for a dual polarised antenna. With exceptional PIM ratings, this antenna is an ideal solution when optimising 4G coverage in complex indoor spaces.

Supplied with a single stud for mounting and 2 plenum-rated, flame retardent cables, the PIM160-ICM offers excellent VSWR figures combined with multiband coverage.

EAD offers a new low loss cable RF240

EAD is pleased to offer a new low loss, but flexible coaxial cable ideal for cable runs up to 15M up to 2.7 GHz.

RF240 Low Loss Coaxial Cable

With an overall sheath diameter of 6.10mm, the RF240 cable is still flexible, but offers excellent performance in a cost-effective package.

The typical attenuation figures are as follows:

100 MHz - 7.8 dB/100M
400 MHz - 16.2 dB/100M
600 MHz  - 20.0 dB/100M
1000 MHz - 26.0 dB/100M
1750 MHz - 36.0 dB/100M
2400 MHz  - 43.1 dB/100M

The means that the RF240 cable fits neatly in-between the ever popular BWL195 cable and the lower loss, but thicker BWL400 cable.

RF240 cable and connectors are in stock now. Please contact us for pricing and availability.

New flexible 169 MHz whip antenna from EAD

A new 169 MHz flexible whip antenna has been introduced by EAD to address applications using the EU licence-free 169 MHz frequency band.

The SRW169 is a robust and flexible 1/4 wave antenna terminated in a SMA-Male connector and is designed for mounting directly onto 169 MHz devices.

SRW169 1/4 Wave Whip Antenna
The SRW169 complements the existing 1/4 wave helical from EAD - the H169-SMA - and facilitates choices in the types of 169 MHz antennas used for metering and associated applications.

For more information, please contact EAD.
